Rothbury

This market town of Coquetdale can trace its origins to long before the Norman Conquest. It spreads over the banks along hte Coquet Valley and makes an ideal centre for touring walking or fishing for trout and salmon.

Nearby is the spectacular Cragside House and gardens, former home of Lord Armstrong, the first house in the world to be lit by hydro-electricity.
