Alston Alston, England's highest town. Isolated, lived-in and harmonious. Old stone houses grappling their way up the side of the valley by cobbled streets.

Alnwick The historic market town of Alnwick, is just a few miles from the coast, and offers very good shopping facilities and delightful old Inns.

Alnmouth From the Warkworth road there is a spectacular view of this pretty village as it stands beside the estuary where the Aln flows into the North Sea.


Amble is a large working fishing town with an well equipped marina.

BAMBURGH Founded by King Ida in 547, the coastal village has a fine Norman Church, and the castle has been restored to its former glory.

BEADNELL Sandy beaches play host to yachting and other water activites.

BERWICK The last town in England, situated on the mouth of the River Tweed, the gateway to Scotland and the borders.

CRASTER Coastal village.The home of the world renowned Craster Kippers. Near Dunstanburgh Castle.

EMBLETON A fine country/coastal village with spectacular views of Dunstanburgh Castle.

HOLY ISLAND Welcome to Lindisfarne, birthplace of Christianity, otherwise known as Holy Island.

ROTHBURY A sprawling market town across the lower Coquet Valley, and home to Cragside, the first house to have electric lighting.

LOW NEWTON BY SEA Tiny Seaside village. Wonderful views and beaches. A pleasant bird watching vantage point.

SEAHOUSES A colourful fishing harbour.

WARKWORTH Visit historic Warkworth, with its castle and Coquet riverside.


WOOLER The gateway to the Cheviot hills, and miles of beautiful countryside.
